Home alone
This year for our family holiday I stayed home to make sure Loki was okay. (Click here for the full story!) I didn't want to leave him in a cattery as I didn't know what state he would be in and whether or not his tail would still be attached and functional. Luckily he has made a good recovery and no operation needed!
But with the cattery cancelled I am left home alone (with the cats, of course), while Frank and Junior have lovely time at the seaside.
It's funny how other people affect your daily habits. I am very strict about having my vitamins every day. But do you know, I have not had any since they left a week ago. None! Because that usual family routine is gone and I don't even think about vitamins now.
But I am a bit worried about Junior. Frank tells me he's been worrying all week about missing his chats with his friend. He thinks his friend will hate him if he can't do a phone call (which is actually a call while they also play an online Roblox game). He's been obsessing about his friend "hating" him if he couldn't call. This is completely unfounded worry. His friend certainly doesn't (and would not) hate him if he's busy. But Junior is so convinced about it, that his anxiety takes over. Apparently, he has been having meltdowns and refusing to do things like go swimming, in case he misses a call. I don't know if this is a normal trait for autistic people or not, or just a young teenager thing, or a combination of both. Poor kid. Maybe the lack of usual family routine is adding to his anxiety.
Well, he'll be home tomorrow, so I hope he settles down again. Doesn't sound like they are having the amazing time I thought they were.
